Welcome to the Milo Salomonis Memorial Page

Milo Salomonis was born September 17, 2008 and sadly passed away January 20, 2009 as an apparent result of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). This site is intended to commemorate Milo's wonderful but short life and our un-dying love for him. Milo opened our hearts in a way that we cannot explain. Our hope is that what happened to Milo can be prevented in other babies before it's too late. If you would like to help us in this endeavor please donate what you can to either of the two below foundations or other of your choosing:

This will be a celebration of Milo's life, so please feel free to wear casual attire. Parking will be available on the street, at the hotel or for a few, at the cemetery. Also, children are welcome! Many out of town visitors are staying at the Concord Hilton, Walnut Creek Renessaince Club Sport or Lafaytte Park Hotel.

Recommendation on SIDS Risk Reduction
We have written up recommendations for parents on SIDS risk reduction strategies, an overview of SIDS research and risk factors for SIDS here.

Calling for New SIDS Legislation
In more than half of all states in the US there is legislation that requires childcare facilities to follow basic Back To Sleep guidelines. Unfortunately, there is a paucity in legislation in regards to requirements and training of employees in daycare settings in California, in regards to SIDS and safe sleep. We are trying to urge the California legislature to adopt standard SIDS risk reduction measures used in other states, which have significantly lowered the rates of SIDS in and outside of daycare. Please see our letter to local representatives here and feel free to adopt this language for your legislator or contact us to work towards these goals in California or other states.

Letters to us and Milo
We have posted a letter to Milo that we read at his burial. If you have notes for us or for Milo you can post and read them here.
